Why I do this work
People often come to therapy believing something about them or their relationship is broken.
I don't begin there.
I've always been curious about the ways people connect—with themselves, with one another, and with the experiences that shape who they become. That curiosity is what first drew me to this work and continues to guide the way I practice today.
Whether I'm working with an individual exploring their sense of self, a couple feeling disconnected, or someone navigating questions about sexuality and intimacy, my goal is the same: to create a space where people feel safe enough to understand themselves more fully.
Because when we understand ourselves with greater compassion, meaningful change often follows.
My perspective
I was born and raised in Guatemala before moving to the United States as an adult. Living between cultures has shaped the way I understand identity, relationships, and the many ways people make meaning of their lives.
I'm fluent in both English and Spanish and offer therapy in either language.
I recognize that our relationships are influenced not only by our personal histories, but also by our families, communities, cultural values, and the systems we live within. These experiences often shape the way we communicate, experience intimacy, navigate conflict, and understand ourselves.
Rather than assuming there is one "right" way to live or love, I approach every client with curiosity, humility, and respect for their unique experiences.
What’s it like to work together
Clients often tell me they appreciate that I bring both warmth and honesty into the therapy room.
I strive to create an environment where difficult conversations feel possible—one where you can laugh, feel challenged, experience emotion, and explore parts of yourself that may have never felt safe to examine before.
I won't pretend to have all the answers, and I won't tell you how your life or relationships should look.
Instead, I'll ask thoughtful questions, offer observations, and help you notice patterns that may have been difficult to see on your own.
Therapy is a collaborative process, and I believe some of the most meaningful change happens when people feel genuinely understood.
My approach
My work integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, psychodynamic therapy, somatic and experiential interventions, and evidence-based sex therapy.
More importantly, I tailor therapy to the people sitting in front of me. Every individual, couple, and relationship has its own history, strengths, values, and goals. Rather than applying the same formula to everyone, I adapt my approach to meet your unique needs.
