Individual Therapy
Therapy is not reserved only for those with a diagnosed mental health issue or those going through some kind of crisis. Mental health therapy is beneficial in a wide range of situations and research shows that it's most effective when you and your therapist build an authentic alliance. I do that by collaborating with you and your unique strengths in mind. My therapeutic approach is a blend of humor, compassionate curiosity, and warmth and my ultimate goal will always be for my clients to achieve sustainable and genuine healing.
I can support you in the following areas:
Struggling to function after a distressing loss or a difficult life transition.
Navigating mood or thought disorders like depression or anxiety.
Resolving conflict or restoring trust in relationships.
Identifying patterns of unhealthy or ineffective behaviors at work, home, or social situations.
Am I Ready for Individual Therapy?
Therapy can be incredibly transformative with most of my clients finding a newfound confidence in their ability to navigate life's curve balls with confidence. Therapy requires vulnerability and introspection. It's vital for me as your therapist to understand your current struggles, however therapy is not a venting session. If there are tools or coping skills to try outside of therapy, it's important to experiment with them and reflect on what works.
Individual therapy may be right for you if:
You are open to self-exploration and willing to collaborate with a therapist.
You are curious about trying different strategies to improve your mood and functioning.
You are motivated and remain consistent and present in sessions.
Goals of Therapy
Each person engaged in therapy is there to address unique issues that have impacted them to some degree in different ares of their lives. Therefore, goals and relief will look and feel different for every person. Collaboration on setting these is the key to finding long-lasting healing.
If you want to discover a deeper sense of self-compassion, gain insight about patterns of behavior that harm you more than heal you, and allow you to share your story in a safe and warm environment, I may be the right fit for you.
