Couples Therapy

Why Couples Therapy?

Every couple has a unique dynamic. Your dynamic is the unique way in which you two tackle problem solving, connection, find forgiveness, or communicate your needs to one another. When this dynamic isn't working out, you can feel off balance and lose your groove.

Couples therapy offers a supportive and non-judgmental space to better understand where things may have shifted in your relationship and how to find your way back to a stronger connection. With the help of an experienced therapist, you’ll have someone who can gently notice and point out unhelpful patterns or blind spots that might be hard to see on your own. Together, we’ll work towards creating healthier ways of relating and communicating.

When is it Time for Couples Therapy?

Couples therapy can be beneficial at every stage of a relationship. You don’t have to wait until things are falling apart to seek support. Therapy is also a proactive step when:

  • You want to ensure your relationship continues to grow in a healthy direction

  • You’ve noticed your connection feels strained, volatile, or disconnected

  • You feel like your growth as a couple has slowed down

Common reasons couples seek therapy:

  • Patterns of unresolved conflicts without forgiveness

  • Sexless relationships or other intimacy issues

  • Infidelity and rebuilding trust

  • Cohesion in decision-making or problem solving

  • Creating cohabitation harmony

  • Fusing finances and money matters

  • Spiritual issues or changes in religious beliefs

  • Communication style and active listening

My Approach

The goal of couples therapy is to improve your ability to effectively communicate with each other with more compassion, empathy, and hopefully reignite intimacy. This is a highly collaborative process and offers an opportunity for growth that you both can experience together.
In our work, I bring a blend of humor, warmth, and compassionate curiosity to our work together and I draw from a variety of  techniques ranging from psycho dynamic, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and the Gottman Method, which are reliable tools for couples to resolve issues and find long-lasting solutions. Every session is an opportunity to let yourselves be seen and increase a sense of connection.

If you want to discover a deeper sense of compassion and gain insight about patterns of behavior that create distance between both of you in a safe and warm environment, I may be the right fit for you.
